Link were appointed to support Tarmac with offsite highway improvement works to their Wivenhoe Quarry, Colchester. These offsite works were to involve the full detailed design and technical approval of a priority ‘Ghost Right’ junction with Essex County Council (ECC).
Our scope as detailed below, was to be designed in accordance within DMRB CD123 – Geometric design of at-grade priority and signal-controlled junctions and ECC local highway design standard.

- S278 Agreement and detailed design liaison with ECC and client;
- Horizontal and vertical alignment access design of the new junction and widening to CD123 and / or KCC design standards;
- Long/cross sections through the proposed access into site, limited to the extent of adoption;
- Swept path analysis to support detailed design;
- Review of existing utilities (C3 budget estimate) within the vicinity of the access works;
- Highway drainage design/amendments to existing drainage and;
- Responses to Stages 1, 2 Road Safety Audits.
