Martin is a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer and Engineering Geologist with over 20 years of experience delivering ground engineering solutions for major infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. Specialising in ground risk and uncertainty, he has worked on nationally significant projects including Hinkley Point C, Lower Thames Crossing and HS2.
He is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Geologist and European Geologist, and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining, and the Institute of Equality and Diversity Practitioners.
A recognised advocate for equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA), Martin served as Geological Society Vice President for EDIA (2021-2026) and has held leadership roles across several national industry bodies. He also supports the profession through chartership assessments, peer review, STEM outreach and mentoring.
His commitment to engineering excellence and inclusion has been recognised through multiple national awards, reflecting his impact as a respected technical specialist, role model and champion for positive change.
