A forward thinking engineer who has acquired his experience and knowledge working within medium sized engineering consultancies, Ferdi is used to being involved in all aspects of projects, from master planning through to construction in both the commercial and residential sectors.  Ferdi has particular strengths in flood risk assessment, complex earthworks modelling and s278, S106 and S104 schemes. Ferdi also shares his knowledge and experience by creating civil engineering content for graduate engineers.

Neil Shuttleworth

Neil is a Chartered Engineer with a wealth of engineering experience, many years of team leadership and is adept at working as part of high value and complex multi-disciplinary projects.

Neil has been fortunate to work, predominantly as a structural engineer, across a variety of sectors including health, retail, education, industrial, energy and most recently nuclear, where he has been responsible for resolving complex design issues and navigating regulatory approvals.

Based in Link’s Manchester office, Neil is a key member of our leadership team and is driving the growth of our business in the North West.

Jack Knapton

Civil Engineering Technician

Responsible for using design software to prepare drawings, calculations, reports and design documents for our engineers, Jack also attends college one day a week as part of his studies towards a BTEC National Diploma in Civil Engineering.

An experienced and insightful Chartered Engineer, Chris’ experience ranges from single dwellings through to infrastructure design on schemes up to the value of £100m, with a strong background in infrastructure planning and ultimate adoption of designs. Chris plays a lead role in the strategic direction of Link, especially our marketing and business development opportunities.

A professionally accredited Engineering Technician, Jason is a highly effective and ambitious Senior Design Technician with over 15 years’ experience with a strong background in highways and private drainage designs. Jason is also leading on Link’s BIM implementation.

Valentin Ivanov

A strong deliverer with a huge amount of potential, Valentin has over six years’ experience delivering a variety of infrastructure projects and a working knowledge of S106, S104, S185, S38, and S278 schemes. Val is currently focused on progressing his chartership.

Nick Moore

A Chartered Engineer specialising in the design of highway and drainage infrastructure for development sites, Nick’s experience ranges from outline planning advice through to detailed design and ultimate adoption of highway and drainage assets. He has undertaken EIAs, attended planning appeals against refusal of planning permission and has a good working knowledge of current national policies and design standards. During his career Nick has led on several key projects, taking on the role of client and technical led from site appraisal through to completion.

Nick Hirschman

A Chartered Engineer who has been a consulting structural engineer since 1984 working in a broad range of building sectors in UK and South Africa. Nick has taken a leading role civil and structural engineering design of a wide spectrum of, new build and building modification projects through from site evaluation and feasibility to completion and even later modification. Nick has also drawn on his experience to assist clients to address technical disputes and identify solutions to defective construction. Nick has particular specialist experience of defects to car parks and other concrete structures.
