Our Transport Planning services encompass the design, evaluation, and implementation of efficient transportation systems tailored to meet the diverse needs of communities and businesses. We can assist developers at all stages of the planning process, from site identification and selection, land promotion through the Local Plan process to assisting with securing planning permission and discharging planning conditions. We can deliver sustainable solutions whilst providing holistic advice leaning on our wider civil engineering expertise.

Due diligence (including access advice for potential site acquisitions)

Our due diligence includes the assessment of the viability of a site for development from a transport perspective by using our experience to gauge the accessibility of the site for people using all modes of transport.

Regulation 18 & 19 advice and evidence bases (for potential site allocations)

To support promotion of a potential development site through the local plan, we gather appropriate evidence, taking into consideration accessibility and examining any potential residual impacts relating to transport.

Pre-planning (scoping) advice

We can engage with local highway authorities and National Highways at an early stage in the planning process to negotiate an appropriate scope of study to support a planning application

Transport Assessment / Statement (including detailed junction capacity assessment)

To support planning applications, we have the experience needed to prepare bespoke Transport documents.

Using specialist computer software, we are able to assess capacity of all types of junctions in order to develop safe and efficient solutions to mitigate any potential traffic impacts arising from new developments.

Travel Plan (pre-planning and delivery)

We can develop bespoke Travel Plans for all types of developments, designed to minimise the carbon footprint of a development from inception.

We can also assist with the delivery of a Travel Plan throughout the required monitoring period post occupation.

Management Strategies (including car parking and service / delivery)

We understand the importance of developing sustainable parking solutions for developments and we are able to provide management strategies for both new and existing sites.

To help minimise the impacts of HGV, we offer service management plans, delivery route plans and bespoke vehicle tracking

Environmental Impact Assessment (ES Transport technical chapter)

We can prepare specialist Transport and Access input to an overarching Environmental Impact Assessment and gather and supply traffic information to inform relevant Air Quality and Noise Impact Assessments.

Data collection (procurement) and analysis (including assistance for Air Quality and Noise Assessment)

We collect, procure and analyse a multitude of types of traffic data to suit your development requirements.

Public consultation

Impacts of traffic are so often a hot topic at consultation events. We have a wealth of experience engaging with the public to provide evidence-based information of the traffic implications of developments on the surrounding local environment.

Post-application services (including discharge of planning conditions)

We have experience in assisting with the discharge of planning conditions, including Travel Planning and providing additional transport-related supporting evidence as required.
